The Garden is no stranger to figure skating, either. It has hosted numerous ice shows and competitions, including the 2001 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, and more recently, the 2014 U.S. Figure Skating Championships where Team USA was chosen for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Since opening, over 30 million people have been to events at the TD Garden. In 2009, The Garden was nominated by Sports Business Journal for sports facility of the year. Other notable events that have been hosted by the TD Garden include the 2004 Democratic National Convention and many Disney On Ice productions. DCR Steriti Rink

Steriti Memorial Skating RinkManaged by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, the DCR Steriti Rink is a short walk from TD Garden, and will be the official practice venue for the 2016 world championships. Due to lack of seating though, entrance to the arena will be limited to credentialed participants only. With that in mind, a visit to the park next to the rink would be worth it simply for the breathtaking views of Boston Harbor and the city’s popular North End district.
